Travel with Us and Israel Update

Project Kesher-Israel's Innaugural Year
With less than one year of operations in Israel, Project Kesher-Israel has exceeded our goal of starting 3 - 4 women's groups in our first year, with the opening of our 8th, 9th and 10th groups in Lod, Nazareth and Ariel. Other groups underway include: Haifa, Netanya, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Maale Edomim, Sderot and Beersheva (2). To date, more than 100 women have participated in this program, nearly doubling our first year goal of 60. Although approximately one third of the women actively participated in Project Kesher before making aliyah and are part of a group of struggling newcomers, other participants are in their 50's and 60's and have lived in Israel for more than 18 years and, still others, are younger women who have already been very successful in the country and are looking to connect to their Russian roots. One outcome has been to connect women with excellent Hebrew skills and good jobs with newer arrivals needing mentoring and support.

Help Located a Torah Scroll to Bring to the Region

Project Kesher is still looking for (kosher) Torah Scrolls to bring to the region. In particular, if you know of a synagogue which is merging, closing or has excess Torahs, please let us know. Click here for more information about Project Kesher's Torah Return Project.
